Imagine NE 82nd Final Open House
murpInSight Visioning and Planning, a group of PSU students in the Master of Urban and Regional Planning Program (MURP), are working in cooperation with Central Northeast Neighbors (CNN) to develop a vision plan for NE 82nd-Imagine 82nd. Over 125 people participated in the April Open House. To engage youth, InSight conducted a workshop at Madison High where students identified areas of improvements. Final results will be presented on Tuesday, May 27 with two session from 5:30 to 6:30p, and from 7-8p, at Banfield Pet Hospital headquarters, 8000 NE Tillamook.  Come hear what the MURP group recommends for the future of NE 82nd!
Get Ready to Host a Block Party!
Every year, there are close to a hundred block parties in Central NE neighborhoods alone! These parties vary in size and activities such as BBQ, live music, face painting, raffle, parade, pot-luck, ice-cream social, so you can count on having fun! Neighbors renew old friendships and make new ones creating community and breaking down barriers.

Eastside MAX Station Plan Community Walking Tours!
82ndMAXThe City of Portland Eastside MAX Station Area Planning project will be hosting walking tours of the station areas. Vision into Action Launches Community Action Grants Program
The Vision into Action (VIA) Coalition - a broad, community-led alliance of organizations, businesses, government and individuals acting collectively to ensure implementation of Portland's community vision - is excited to launch the 2008 Community Action Grants Program. The Community Action Grants Program will provide up to $10,000 for Neighborhood Associations and nonprofit organizations to take action on Portland's community vision. Portland Plan Summit and May Meetings
The Portland Plan is an inclusive, citywide effort to guide the physical, economic, social, development of Portland over the next 30 years.The plan will build on visionPDX which captured and fleshed out our shared values of social, cultural, economic and environmental sustainability, equity and accessibility, and community connectedness and distinctiveness. We invite you to continue this community/city partnership in a shared effort to turn our vision into a reality. The first of a series of meetings is May 12th 6:30-8:30p at Roseway Heights MS, 7334 NE Siskiyou.

2008 Regional Livability Summit May 28th
clfThis year's Summit will be co-hosted by the Coalition for a Livable Future and Portland State University's College of Public and Urban Affairs Social Equity and Opportunity Forum. Along with a dynamic keynote speech, the centerpiece of this year's Summit will be the unveiling of our draft Equity Action Plan. The Action Plan will translate the research contained in our recently published, Regional Equity Atlas, into specific equity initiatives-new public policies, public investment strategies, and public education initiatives that can be integrated into our region's approach to sustainable development. Comment on Metro's Brownfields Recycling Program
Metro is seeking public comment on its Brownfields Recycling Program to continue efforts to identify and assess brownfield sites across the region. Brownfields are underutilized properties with actual or perceived environmental contamination that have a potential for redevelopment. These sites are typically locations of old gas stations, dry cleaners, auto-related businesses or industrial sites. The deadline for written comments on the Brownfield Recycling Work Plan is Friday, May 16 at 5:00 p.m. For more information click on Metro's Brownfields Recycling Program or call 503-797-1839.
League of Women Voters May 20 Primary Election Voters' Guide  
logoHelp has arrived for voters faced with May ballot decisions on issues and candidates.  
The League of Women Voters of Portland Education Fund publishes non-partisan Voters' Guides  for most elections. You can also find copies at County Library branches and other locations around the city. The Voters' Guide contains objective, non-partisan explanations of measures on the ballot for the May 20 primary election. League members research the issues and include background information, analysis of each ballot measure, and arguments for and against the measure. Every effort is made to present both sides of the issue accurately and fairly.
Metro Regional Travel Options Grants 
Metro's Regional Travel Options Program is soliciting proposals for individualized marketing projects. Individualized marketing projects identify people within a specific geographic area who want to change the way they travel. The projects use personal, individualized contact to motivate travel behavior change. Proposal letters of interest and pre-applications are due to Metro at 4 p.m. Fri., June 6.
