InSight Visioning and Planning, a group of PSU students in the Master of Urban and Regional Planning Program (MURP) worked in cooperation with Central Northeast Neighbors' Advisory Committee to develop a vision plan for NE 82nd-Imagine NE 82nd.

Land use and transportation representatives from each of the CNN neighborhoods come together monthly to discuss local planning issues.

The CNNLUTOP Committee hosts presentations and discussions by experts, developers, community organizations and public agencies on topics of current interest. Presenters, topics and projects include:

In addition, there is time allocated for neighborhood representatives to share information and to act on community issues to guide change at the local level. Other objectives involve exploring current land use regulations, codes and other practices.

Neighbors discussing pedestrian safety by Madison HS

On August 6th-20 community members and PDOT, ODOT, BOP, Park & ONI Crime Prevention staff participated in a tour of NE 82nd Ave. of Roses. Field presentations included the 82nd Max station, Glenhaven Skatepark & proposed "Big Box" development, Sandy Blvd (ranked a high crash intersection), and Cascade Station where IKEA is located. Participants provided input for the 82nd Transportation Safety Project. The site visits and analysis helped to build community awareness around growth and development issues & opportunities.
