Int. Day Festival Polynesian dancers
Hundreds of neighbors celebrated the first International Day Festival on July 14th at the NE 72nd & Sandy Park Blocks where cultural dance performances took place along with food, live Latin music and community booths! The effort was a success in promoting the diversity of the International Business District in Roseway.
"Conjunto Alegre" Salsa in Rose City Park

In July, Rose City Park Neighborhood organized the first Concerts in the Park series at Rose City Park. Portland Parks and Recreation administers this series, supported by contributing business sponsors. The two concerts featuring blues and salsa that took place at Rose City Park had an overwhelmingly positive response! Hundreds of neighbors had picnics, danced, and also donated nearly $400, making the venture quite successful. Rose City Park's music committee will return in 2008 to secure more funding, possibly adding a third concert next summer. For volunteer information, please call Dave Carter at 503.288.6030, or Email ohnodevodave@yahoo.com. See you next July!
