on Intersection Repair Projects in CNN
Neighborhoods |
Beaumont-Wilshire, Rose City Park, and Cully neighbors
are working to improve local intersections in their neighborhood
with City Repair. The CNN Land-Use, Transportation and
Open Space (LUTOP) Committee is hosting a presentation of
local Intersection Repair projects a week before
the Village Building Convergence events. The forum includes ways to
get involve in community building projects by learning about
placemaking projects through CNN neighbors.

Planning Commission tour on March 13 of PDX
Airport and CNN neighborhoods. Cully, Roseway,
Beaumont-Wilshire (Fremont) and Madison South(Skatepark/82nd &
Siskiyou developments/82nd MAX) areas were points of
interest. Chris Caruso (photo center-right) of Roseway
is briefing participants about infill housing, and the Sandy
Blvd International Business District at the NE 72nd
Park Block Sandy & Fremont Plaza. The tour was
lead by Debbie Bischoff, NE District Liaison from the
Bureau of Planning.
Celebrate Earth Day in Cully by joining
Cully Association of Neighbors and Rigler SUN on Sunday, April
22 from 11-3 for a fun and interactive community
event.
We

82nd Avenue of Roses Parade April 28!
The 82nd Avenue of Roses is hosting a community parade
starting at 9am at Eastport Plaza as part of Rose Festival
Celebrations.
The City of Portland
launched its Immigrant and Refugee Task Force. Mayor Tom
Potter's office has appointed members to the new Immigrant and
Refugee Task Force. The first meeting was March
19th. Task force meetings are open to the public.

Government? |
Join a Community Discussion! Mayor Tom Potter and Commissioner Randy Leonard have agreed
to participate in an exchange of opinions of the Charter Reform
Commission's recommendations that will appear on the May 15
ballot, with emphasis primarily on Measure 26-91, Form of
Government.
The meeting will be held on Monday, April
16, 2007, in the Commons at Parkrose High School, 12003 NE Shaver
(just west of NE 122nd), from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
The
meeting is sponsored by East Portland Neighborhood coalition,
Northeast Coalition of Neighborhoods, Southeast Uplift, and Central

Neighborhood Involvement Budget!

have concluded. The next step of the budget process is for the Mayor
to develop his Proposed Budget, a process which includes
consideration of the recommendations, public comment, and budget
balancing with financial staff. Your input is still important!

| Bicycle Master Plan Committee-Request for
Involvement |
On the behalf of the City,
Alta Planning + Design is seeking a
CNN neighborhood representative on the Platinum Bicycle Master
Plan Steering Committee. The Steering
Committee will provide strategic direction, oversight, advice
on plan process, content, and quality. This
committee is intended to oversee all
issues and ensuring that there is a thorough and embraced
plan. There will be opportunities for widespread public input
throughout the process. The Steering Committee will meet on a
monthly basis starting this Spring. If you are interested in serving

prepare to establish or revise new urban tree policies and programs.

ReBuilding Center is expanding its mission to promote reuse and
recycling in the Northwest with a series of reuse workshops on
topics from fine arts to home construction projects. The ReBuilding
Center presents its spring season of reuse workshops, offering
classes that inspire students to transform discarded building
materials into works of art. Students use recycled building
materials as the creative mediums for new furniture, household
objects and art and sculpture. Registration for ReBuilding Center
