CNN Connections
internetIn the next few months CNN will surf the online communication wave by welcoming websites for all our neighborhoods! Madison South, Sumner, and Cully are in the works for new sites to complete the CNN neighborhood connection.  Thanks to Todd Coward our neighborhood web developer who also offered helpful tips to get us started. Included in this mix is the new CNN website with an April launch. The site will feature a new design with easy navigation, a neighborhood/coalition master calendar, community forum, photos and maps, along with the fundamentals. For more information please contact Sandra at CNN 503-823-2780.

In the next issue CNN Connections will feature CNN community building grant activities.

The Cully Blvd Green Street project received $1.6 million in funding by Metro and Joint Policy Advisory Committee on March 1, 2007.The project to improve a major neighborhood street without sidewalks that has increased in use including children only received half the construction funding needed. Changes in Store for Rose City Park School
rcp

Rose City Park School will see many changes this fall. First they are moving from their current location at 2334 NE 57th in the Rose City Park neighborhood a few blocks east to the Gregory Heights School building in the Roseway neighborhood. Here they will become a Kindergarten through 8th grade school. This is part of the Portland Public School Districts plans to reconfigure schools on the eastside of town to the K-8 model. To weigh in on the decision for a new name for the school, ballots will be available in April at both schools as well as at CNN and local libraries. And for those interested in hearing more about the move and an update on plans for the soon to be vacant RCP building join the Rose City Park Neighborhood Association at their next meeting, Tuesday, March 27, 7:30p at the Rose City Park United Methodist Church, where PPS Chief Operating Officer, Cathy Mincberg will present.
